Tortola, BVI

Lawrence and I spent a week (December 8-15) on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. We went with some of his family (16 of us in total) and let me tell you, I cannot wait to go back.

We left MEM at 5:50am on Saturday. We got to "the islands" after a ferry ride from St. Thomas. It was on that Ferry ride where I discovered the refreshing Carib beer. We got to the hotel and discovered that we had an incredible view of the ocean (no less than 15 feet away).

Some Highlights of the week:

-I snorkeled for the 1st time in Smuggler's Cove. I was very nervous, but I survived and really enjoyed it. Too bad I only saw about 5 fish. I snorkeled at least 3 more times, in The Baths, The Indians and The Caves. I saw some of the most incredible fishes and even a stingray!

-Wild life...chickens, sheep and goats roam the streets. I mean it was not unusal to see a chicken in a restaurant while eating lunch.

-Carib Beer, Rum Punch, Bushwacker...drinking, drinking and more drinking.

-Awesome views. As I mentioned, our balcony had incredible views. While exploring the island I took some great pics (like 300+). Rainbows were also seen frequently, with the highlight being a double rainbow.

It was definately a trip that I will not forget anytime soon.

The most wonderful time of the year?

Sorry that there have not been any posts lately. With everything that is on my plate, I just have not had the time.

What have we been up to the last month? I will give you the Reader's Digest version (in no particular order).

- We have been watching LOTS of football (and by we I mean more Larry than me).

- We celebrated Thanksgiving with both sets of parents. Had Thanksgiving lunch with my family and then that evening headed to spend the remainder of the weedkend with the Dow's.

- Larry had a birthday and got a WII from me!!

- Celebrated Halloween (we had a whooping 3?!?!?! kids come by...seriously, kids walked PAST our house)

I have really been busy with my new job. I am loving it! I got to travel to Boston and Cleveland the other day which was very enpowering to travel for 3 days by myself in cities I have never visited.

We are getting ready to head to the Tortola soon! We will be going with most of Larry's family. I am really excited. I am ready to sit and relax and do NOTHING for a week. I am so worn out...I cannot wait to veg...who know's maybe I will even get a sunburn!

As for the title of this blog...I really cannot stand it being December 4 and 60+ degrees outside. I really cannot get into the Christmas spirit until I need to wear a hat, scarf and gloves anytime (day or night) I go outside. It is Memphis so tomorrow it will probably snow! I better watch out what I wish for!!!

A busy month!

It has been over a month since I blogged and boy have we been busy!

I started a new job on October 1. So far it is wonderful and I absolutely love it!

We visited Margaret and Rob for the Ole Miss/Alabama game on October 13-15. They so graciously let us stay in their home and we had a wonderful weekend. It would have been even better had Ole Miss won!

This weekend we had dinner club on Friday night and as usual had a blast! Saturday night we were suppose to go to a couple of Halloween parties, but I was not feeling well so we stayed in.

Wednesday is Halloween, I cannot believe that the month is over! Now got to start planinng for Larry's birthday!

Weekend in Nashville

This weekend we went to Nashville for the wedding of my sorority little sister, Katy. We decided to drive up on Friday after work and grab dinner with Beck and Kelly, who had just recently moved to Nash-Vegas. We called it an early night since we had so much shopping to do on Saturday before the wedding :)

The wedding was beautiful and it was great to see friends I have not seen in 5 years. I think that Larry also had a really good time. The funniest thing about the weekend was that at midnight the power in the ENTIRE county was turned off...that is not something you experience everyday in Memphis.

All in all a great weekend! Oh yeah--UT and AU won so it made the weekend even better!

My first "real" post

We are just getting back from the lake. While on the boat with Margaret she mentioned that she and Rob had a blog. I told her that we did too, although I have NEVER done anything except post the silly pic of Larry being eaten by the shark from Disney.

Since she and Rob have a blog for friends and family...I, too, will try to maintain one as well.

So, here we go!!

This weekend we were in Heber. It was very relaxing as always. Enjoyed spending time with Melissa, David and Robert (Larry's mom, dad and brother). Had a very interesting manicure at a salon downtown. A big highlight...playing the new Nintendo Wii.

My mother-in-law also celebrated her birthday which was big fun!
