Library Time
This afternoon, after Vaughan woke up from a nearly 3 hour nap (and I was going a wee bit cross eyed from updating this blog), I decided that a "field trip" was in order. We needed a place where Vaughan could crawl to his little hearts content. A place where he has only been a couple of times. This place, I determined -- the library. We read a couple of books, crawled around the kid's area, pulled up on the chairs in the easy reader section and lastly crawled around on the firetruck. We also signed up for story time on Saturday. All in all, a very successful outing!

Eggplant
Vaughan tried eggplant today and after a hesitant first bite he loved it and wanted more! However, after wards he got a slight rash and the rash came back after he tried it a second time, so sadly he is sensitive to them and we will be removing them from his diet at this time.

Symphony at the Library
Today, Vaughan and I went to the library for story time. There was an added bonus, the percussion section of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra was there to help tell the story. We went a couple of months ago when the string's performed but this time Vaughan was more alert and into the sights and sounds.

Ten Months Old
Today, sweet Vaughan you are 10 months old!
* You still wear size 2-3 diaper and as soon as this pack of diapers is used up, you will go into size 3
* You wear mostly 12 month clothes but still fit in some of your larger 9 month clothes
* You still love to eat and now feed yourself lunch and dinner and try new foods all the time
* You pull up on all the furniture, couches and basically anything you can get your hands on
* You are crawling and at a fast and furious pace
* You smile all the time and love to get attention anywhere you can get it
* There have been reports of saying mama but haven't heard it yet
* You do not take your pacifier as much, you will suck your thumb when you need self soothing
* EVERYONE comments that you are handsome, have beautiful eyes and a wonderful personality

Birthday Party
Today, Vaughan went to his friend, Anna's, birthday party. It was a pajama and doughnut party. He did not get to eat a doughnut, but did have a wonderful time. It was fun to see him interact with other kids and play.

Broccoli
Tonight, Vaughan tried broccoli. He was excited to try something new, but I guess that it did not taste too good to him and he spit it out. This was the first time he has ever spit out food! After he got used to the texture he liked it.

Lunchtime!
The last couple of days Vaughan has added solid foods to his lunch routine. We also have started letting him eat more finger foods . This process is not neat, but he loves it! We are in the process of adding lots more foods to his diet the next week or so.
Here is today's lunch:

Bumper Pad May Have To Go
I am a huge proponent of bumper pads in cribs. Especially since Vaughan likes to sleep on his side on the rails of his crib. However, using the bumper pad as a pillow, as I found him doing last night, well that is really testing me. It may be time for them to go :(
He sure did look comfy (and was out for the count), however, he was moved to a safer sleep position after this picture was taken.

9 Month Check-up
Today, Vaughan had his 9 month check-up. He did great and is right on mark with his development. Mommy and Baby V were very happy not to have any shots at this appointment, his next shots will be at his1 year appointment (insert gasp and sigh from mommy here).

Busted during (should be) naptime
For the past 10 days Daddy has been home with us, so our routine has gone out the window, so today having to be out the door at 8:15 proved to be somewhat of a struggle (especially since some of us didn't wake up until 7:45 and we *try* NEVER to wake a sleeping baby). After our doctor's appointment we ran a couple of errands then came home and played HARD. So when Vaughan started rubbing his eyes I *knew* he was ready for a nap -- WRONG. I noticed he was standing up on the baby monitor so when I went into his room this is what I found. So what did I do? I grabbed him out of his crib and we cuddled on the couch until he was sleepy. Love that sweet boy!

Butternut Squash
Imagine that, Vaughan loves the butternut squash! This re-confirms that the child LOVES everything. I hope that it stays this way!
