I decided before Vaughan was born that I wanted to take him to get his photograph made each month. Not only was it a nice way to document his growth but it also reminds me of when my parents would take me and my sister to get our photograph taken. Here are the best shots from Vaughan's first portrait session.

First Week
My first week home was very exciting. Daddy took the week off from work and he took GREAT care of me while Mommy rested and healed from having me. I had to go to the hospital once and the doctor twice to check on my jaundice. I was finally clear of that! I had lots of people come to visit and love on me. I am such a lucky boy!!
My Great-Grandparents
I was happy to meet Mommy's grandparents, my great-grandparents. They really loved meeting me!

Coming Home
Monday, March 29 was a busy day! Mommy and Vaughan were discharged from the hospital. We came home after Vaughan was circumsized and Mommy and Daddy attended a class on how to take care of baby once they got home.
I also got the prettiest flowers to welcome me home!!

I really like riding in the car
When we got home, Mommy and Daddy took me on a tour of my new house. After that, Daddy and I started up our "tanning" sessions. My doctor told me that I needed to "lay out" in the sun every 2 hours for 15 minutes on each side to combat my jaundice. Daddy and I used this time as "dude time".

Vaughan...the first few days
Mommy is going to fill in for baby Vaughan as a guest writer as he is busy eating and sleeping and eating some more. I will pick up where he left off. After birth, we moved from labor and delivery to our regular room. Once we got settled in (about 2 hours after he was born) both sets of his grandparents and Aunt Kristin and Uncle Spence we eager to meet him (especially since they had been waiting for hours and hours in the waiting room!).
Right after you were born. You were born "face up" so we needed to use a vacuum to help you out rather than do a c-section. That is why you have a purple circle on your head.
Your daddy was the first person to hold you once you got cleaned up. Mommy was the first person to hold you when you were born, but there was no time for a photo.
Our first family photo. Vaughan was a few minutes old.
Baby Vaughan's stats on his portable bassinet.
Even though your daddy slept only about 1 hour in 36, he was all smiles and proud to show you off.
Sunday you had your hospital photos taken and you did such a wonderful job!!! There were so many great pictures. Here are the three we liked the best.
Sunday afternoon you were checked out by the pediatrician and she wanted to keep an eye on your jaundice. Besides that minor detail, you are super healthy and we felt very blessed hearing that news.
