Check Up, Weigh In ... and a SHOT

At Gentry's 9 month check up, shortly after his ear tubes, the pediatrician was not happy that he dropped in weight percentiles and only gained a few ounces since his 6 month check up. I was devastated! She explained that his body was working so hard to rid himself of the infection that didn't leave a lot to produce weight on his bones. So, a weigh in was necessary in 6 weeks. Fast forward to Monday, the big weigh in and boy was I nervous. But, little guy didn't disappoint and gained 1lb and 10oz (and grew 3/4")!!! Yeah! That brought him back to the 10th percentile for weight and took a huge weight off my heart and mind. The icing on the cake--ear is looking AWESOME! We decided to celebrate by getting his 1st flu shot...lucky guy :)

On a side note, it is not lost on me that my oldest has to go on weigh ins for being "so big" and my youngest for being "so small". I love seeing motherhood from both sides!

Ten Months Old

Today, sweet Gentry you are 10 months old!
How has this happened?? My sweet 2nd son is growing up so fast!!
* You still wear size 2 diapers ... do not see us going up anytime soon ... you are such a skinny guy
* You wear a variety of sizes, you can wear some 3 and 6 month clothes as well as some 9 months clothes. We are getting our money's worth with you!
* You love to eat and enjoy feeding yourself bananas, grapes and cheerios
* You pull up on all the furniture, couches and basically anything you can get your hands on
* You are not scared of stairs ... which scares Mommy
* You are crawling and at a fast and furious pace ... usually heading right to the stairs
* You smile all the time and love to get attention anywhere you can get it ... your smile melts my heart
* There have been reports of saying mama but haven't heard it yet ... you say dada all the time
* You will give high five
* You love ... I mean LOVE ... blowing bubbles
* You sooth yourself with your paci most of the time ... but sometimes you find your thumb, just like brother
* EVERYONE comments that you are handsome, have a beautiful smile and piercing blue eyes. You are a happy boy and are so blessed to get to have you in our lives!

Baptism

Today, Gentry was baptized at Church of the Holy Communion. It was an even more special day since it was his 10 month birthday. It was such a great day of fellowship and family. Aunt Kristin, Uncle Spence and Uncle Robert were the happy godparents. Afterward, a small brunch was held at Cha Cha and Granddad's house.
