Memorial Day

What a wonderfully long holiday weekend we have had. It was nice to have Daddy home one extra day! We kicked off the weekend on Friday  by going out to dinner. Saturday, Vaughan and I ran errands while daddy worked in the yard. Sunday, we went to Mimi and Poppy's house for a cookout to celebrate, not only the Memorial Day holiday, but also Mimi, Mommy and Grandmomma's birthdays. Vaughan tried watermelon for the first time and LOVED IT! Today, actual Memorial Day, we have just enjoyed the day by going to the park. Below are some pictures from today's outing!
Vaughan loves to climb up the slide "climbing wall"

Swinging...I think that he was sad he couldn't swing as high and mommy and daddy.

Looking for sticks.

He climbed all the way to the top of the slide all by himself. Daddy was behind him, just in case :)

Making sure all eyes are on him!

So happy :)

Fourteen Months Old

The last month has been oh so much fun! You are seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever known. I know that everyone thinks that their baby is the smartest and sweetest, so you will just have to indulge me :)

* We are transitioning in to size 5 diapers. We know it is time to go up when your diaper leaks when you sleep so after 3 out of 4 wet nights you are moving on up!
* You have the most beautiful mouth full of teeth. 15 of them have come thru the gums...so just one straggler then you have all of your teeth less your 2 year old molars.
* We transitioned you from breastfeeding when you were 13-1/2 months old. You don't seem to mind, Mommy on the other hand had a hard time letting go. I was proud to get to feed you for so long.
* You talk all of the time. I think that you have a very diverse vocabulary for a 14 month old. You say: Buzz, ball, Mama, Dada, hi, bye bye, dog, bath, book, banana, night night to list just a few.
* You are still obsessed with Buzz...I see a future Halloween costume if you keep this up!
* You love to eat, especially veggies. We very rarely give you sugar. On any given night you are eating a variety of fruits and veggies to include: squash, broccoli, tomato, bell pepper, mushroom, cucumber, peas, carrots, avocado, banana, pear, sweet potato, mandarin oranges, kiwi fruit, strawberries, blueberries, and cherries. I am sure that I have left some out. Now that the Farmer's Market is open, it is great to get fresh produce for you.
* Still not walking. The last week you have taken one step a couple of times. I feel that you will be walking any day now.
* You have learned to not only turn off the lights via the light switch but also now you can turn them on!
* You love electronics! Ipod, Iphone, remote control, anytime. And 99.9% of the time you are very careful with them and just want to hold them.
* Your new favorite activity is peek a boo. You love to hide your face behind anything you can find until someone asks, "Where is Vaughan?" Then you burst out laughing!
* You are very mindful. You really do not get into anything. I treat you, just as I was treated, as a mini-adult. So far it is working out well.
* You are a HUGE flirt! If there is a girl around, you are probably talking to her. Your pick-up line: "hi" and then to reel them in, you wave with your biggest smile!
* You still take about 2 naps per day...and sleep about 12 hours at night. You definitely get this from your momma. Like me, you can sleep anytime, any place!

The boy loves electronics. He is holding the remote to his Ipod docking station that he knows how to turn on :)

Last Day of School

Today was Vaughan's last day as in the "bed babies" class at Germantown Baptist Church. He has had such an amazing year. He started out at a almost 6 month old  baby that just sat there to a toddling toddler. His teachers absolutely love him and the feeling is mutual. Even though his Mimi took him most days, the couple of times I took him it was such a wonderful feeling to walk down the hall and all the teachers on his hall say hello to my son, by name. Thank you Miss Tamara and Miss Shari for taking exceptional care of my sweet boy! We will see you in the fall!

Mother's Day

Today Vaughan, with a little help from his Daddy, helped make Mother's Day a great day. He has been so happy and smiley lately and that is the best gift I can receive.

My sister, Kristin, and I took our mom to lunch at Houston's. As usual, it was delicious.

Talking to Aunt Kristin.

Vaughan is really excited!

This warmed my heart when I picked up Vaughan on Wednesday. His MDO teachers are so sweet to do these things!
