Today I took you to your 12 month well baby appointment. It was determined that you have very bad allergies since you had been sneezing since your birthday party. You are now taking Claritin for Kids 1x per day.

Weight: 25 lb, 5 oz, between 75th-90th percentile
Head: 49-1/4 cm, top of the charts--maybe soon you will be an actual percentile :)

One Year Old
Today, sweet baby Vaughan, you are one year old!! This year has F-L-O-W-N by and mommy and daddy cannot believe how much you have grown in the past year!!
* You now wear size 4 diapers...you wore size 3 the shortest period of time!
* You are wearing mostly 12 and 18 month clothes since it is Spring and they are new clothes and we want you to get lots of wear of them :)
* You still love to eat. Now that you are one you can eat anything and everything you want (except for nuts and honey). That makes meal time a lot easier :)
* You are standing for long periods of time, you can hold for up to 30 seconds. You are really not showing any interest in walking, you like to fall on your bottom.
* You crawl all around the house...you are so fast!!! Blink and you are gone.
* You have 8 teeth!
* You like your new Britax car seat. Even if you still have to be rear facing. It gives you much more room than the bucket did!
* You say a lot of words including: mama, dada, dog, hi, bye bye, and you just started saying Buzz because you are OBSESSED with Toy Story!!
* When you are sleepy you do, in fact, say night night. So cute (and very helpful)
* You are off pacifiers for good now. Only suck your thumb for comfort.
* We are starting to wean you off of breast milk. I have enjoyed the bonding that has gone with nursing you for the past year. Starting today, you are going to drink organic whole milk during the day (out of your new straw sippy cups!) and I will still nurse you two times a day.
* Your smile and big blue eyes melt everyone's heart.

First Birthday Party
Today, we celebrated Vaughan turning one year old! Wow! Seems just like yesterday he was born and I was rocking him to sleep. While I am glad that he is becoming more and more independent I can't help but wonder why time has to fly so darn fast! Mommy and Daddy sure hope that every year doesn't go by this fast. My parents were gracious to open up their home for our soiree. His party theme was OWLS and I had a great time experimenting with fondant to make the birthday and smash cakes. All in all, a great time was had by all, especially the birthday boy!
