Christmas Day - 2012

Christmas was a magical time this year! With everyone on the mend for the most part, we enjoyed spending time together and with family. Gentry will not remember this Christmas, but this year was the first time Vaughan seemed truly excited and in to this magical time. In the words of Frank Sinatra, "The Best Is Yet To Come" and I believe it! I would be remiss to say that I was happy to have a little distraction to put our mind as ease missing PawPaw. His absence was truly felt!

I could KICK myself--I had saved the pictures of Vaughan first seeing his presents under the tree from Santa but they are now DELETED from my laptop. I am sick about this :(

ADDENDUM -
On Christmas Night one of the greatest gifts was received. Kristin and Spence announced that they were expecting a baby!!! My baby sister is going to be a MOMMY!! I am over the moon :)

One Month Photo Shoot

Today, Gentry had his one month photos made---a little bit late due to the ugly bout of RSV. He did great!!

One Month Old

Baby Gentry...you are ONE MONTH OLD today!! Wow...it seems like you just were born yesterday, you are such a blessing. I wish that today had been more "fun" but we will make it up to you next month :)

We started off the day at the Pediatrician. You were very congested and Daddy and I were scared Vaughan had gotten you ill. Sure enough, sweet boy, you are sick with the same yuck Vaughan has -- RSV. We are going to have to keep an ever better eye on you in the coming day.

At the pediatrician you weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces with you clothes and wet diaper on (and a pacifier in your mouth). We guestimate that you weigh in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

**You wear size newborn diapers

**You eat every 2.5-3 hours -- we are supplementing you with formula for your night time feeding until you get a little more meat on your bones.

**You are a GREAT sleeper...Mommy loves that you go to bed around 10p and gets up between 3a-4a...then again between 7a-8a...I can get used to this :)

**You are more and more alert each day.

Can't wait to see what the next month brings. We love you so much!!!

Gentry's First Babysitter

The last few days have been a blur with Vaughan being sick. This morning we had to take Vaughan to his checkup and we didn't to expose Gentry to the germs at the doctor's office...so Vaughan got his first babysitter, Papa! When we FINALLY got home, Gentry was hungry, so Papa got to feed him a bottle!

Thanks for saving the day, Papa!!

Bathtime for Gentry

Today was Gentry's second bath! His first bath lasted all of 45 seconds, so I count this as his "official" first bath :)

He loves the water, just like Vaughan did. And I sure have missed that fresh out of the bath, yummy, clean baby smell!!

Good Morning

The best part of the day is when Vaughan first wakes up. He is the happiest little guy in the world!! And that hair--it is the best in the morning!

3 weeks old

Little Gentry...you turned 3 weeks old yesterday. Since you haven't gotten back to your birth weight, we had to "weigh-in" at the doctor again today.

Monday, at your 2 week check up, you were 7 lbs 3 oz (10th percentile) and 20" long (25th percentile).

Today, you weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz!! So happy you gained 3 oz in 3 days!! We go back Monday, and I feel confident you will be even bigger!!

Nap Nanny

So...someone has a hard time sleeping at night in their bassinet. I'm not naming names, but you know who you are. At the encouraging of many people, we decided to order a nap nappy to see if this very hyped product worked. I am proud to say that last night was the first night that someone did not sleep in the bed or in the couch with me. In all...a good night for all. Here is hoping last night was not a fluke!

The "V" in VIP

I had to run up to the office today to take some photos of our newest plane. I took Vaughan and Gentry with me since we were out running errands. Gentry slept the entire time, however, Vaughan was VERY excited to see the airplanes. He was a very good assistant! He enjoyed lounging in the Lear31 and wants one of his very own :)

Three Boys

This morning, Vaughan was doing a roll of which of us were girls and which were boys. He is growing up so fast...I notice this more so now that there are two of them. Each day he surprises me with his new knowledge of things!

After nap, we all cuddled in bed as I finished nursing Gentry. Afterwards, I captured this picture of my three favorite boys!

Gentry's Hospital Photos

Gentry had his photos taken at the hospital. It took three tries to get them, but it was DEFINITELY worth it! He is such a cute little guy (in my totally unbiased opinion). Got the cd today with the edited pics and we couldn't be more pleased. Of course, Vaughan had to get in the mix -- he loves "getting his picture made."
